- Sharing audio components such as CD players and music servers between two receivers in a multi-room audio system isn’t necessary, but it can save you both money and space. For example, if you’ve got a 400-disc CD megachanger loaded up with your entire music library, the ability to play it through either of your two receivers is an especially attractive option.
- Choose a system that supports the number of music sources you want to distribute through your home (CD, Media Server, FM Tuner, online radio, etc). Those sources are connected to the system’s distribution amplifier in a central location, like a closet or media cabinet.
- Determine how many zones (or rooms) you want to distribute the music, and then wire home theater speakers and in-wall controllers to each of those zones.
